What is this blog for?
Basically, I've set this up to provide an accompanying information source to the @WindRainPhoenix Twitter. The basic idea is to provide game-day digest posts containing collected information such as article URLs and match day updates. However I'd love to also add articles to the blog. I'll write every now and then but I'm not a football expert by any measure, thus I'm happy to accept columnists or one-off pieces etc.

The focus is primarily on the Wellington Phoenix, however I have no objection to posting about NZ football in general or former Nix players. I also like to provide coverage of the NZ National League when I can.

I've written an article/opinion piece, will you publish/link to it?
I'm always happy to link to the written work of others. If you've got a blog post up and want it promoted, let me know and I'll check it out. Chances are if it's part of a blog, I'll subscribe to it on RSS. This means future posts will often get linked to in digest posts/tweets anyway.

If you want something published as part of the blog, awesome! Always happy to take submission pieces, especially from people who want to write but don't wish to run an entire blog. If the submission is your own work and relevant, I'll consider it. I reserve the right to edit it (spelling errors, censorship, abridging, copyright issues etc) before publishing, however no edits will be made in order to misrepresent the author or the context of the text.

What do I do if WindRainPhoenix has published my content without permission/referencing?
Robb takes crediting and permission VERY seriously, so if there is a breach of this, please let him know ASAP so he can fix it.

What affiliation do you have with Wellington Phoenix FC?
Absolutely none. I'm a season member for the club and a passionate fan, however I hold no position within the organization.

What affiliation do you have with the @wgtnphoenixfc Twitter account?
@WindRainPhoenix was originally known as @wgtnphoenixfc. However this name was freely given to the club and now "@WgtnPhoenixFC" is the name of the official Wellington Phoenix twitter.
When I [Robb] started @WindRainPhoenix, there was no official Twitter account for the Nix. Someone had created an account called @wgtnphoenix but for reasons unknown to me it was disabled. So I created a new account under the name of @wgtnphoenixfc to replace it and fill what I saw as a potentially useful promotional tool to help spread the word and news of a club I'm passionate about. To make myself visible in search engine results, I operated under the name of Wellington Phoenix and used the club logo. To (perhaps unsuccessfully) avoid confusion, I placed a disclaimer on the account page stating that I was not official. Earlier in 2010, I met with a representative of the club who informed me that they wished to start an official account. At their request and with my full blessing, I relinquished the names and branding and started @WindRainPhoenix by renaming the old account. Initially I offered to surrender my account but I was encouraged to continue as I could provide a different, independent viewpoint. You'll often see me re-tweet that account and vice versa, but this is due to a common objective rather than any formal partnership.

What affiliation do you have with Yellow Fever?
I'm a member of the forums and stand in the Fever Zone at home matches, however I am not part of the YF executive. Nor am I a mod on the forums.

What affiliation do you have with New Zealand Football?
I coach juniors for a local club. Other than that, none.

Will you link to my blog/fansite?
Always happy to consider linking to blogs and fansites relating to the Nix, Wellington/NZ football or the A-League. Drop Robb a line and we'll see.

Will you NOT link to my blog/fansite?
If you wish for us to remove a link, please provide a link to the offending page let us know and I'll remove it.

You are awesome, do you accept presents/donations/bribes?
Yeah, I know, it's extremely unlikely that this'll ever get asked. But in case it does, I should have policy down in writing - thanks but no thanks. If you simply like our work and want to give something back, my suggestion is to donate to the New Zealand Football Foundation. Not only is it a good cause, but accepting payment for a site that uses the content of others can be difficult. The same goes for any companies who may want to sponsor this blog. Thanks, but I'd like to remain neutral. If your company wants promotion for something relevant to the interests of readers, let me know. I'm not an ad service but I'm happy to give a shout-out where appropriate.

That being said, if you recognise me at the pub and want to shout me a pint, chances are good I'll accept!

To what extent can I use published content on WindRainPhoenix?
Personal enjoyment. Standard plagiarism law applies. All written content is the property of Robb unless otherwise specified. Feel free to quote but provide full credit and link back to the original source.
